For those of you who dont know, Keyword Elite 1.0 is one of the most known keyword tool in the Internet Marketing community. It was released several years ago and IMHO it is now quite obsolete. With all the keyword tools available today, mainly the free Googles Keyword Tool or the excellent paid version of Market Samurai, they really had to release a new version if they wanted to stay on track.

Market Samurai is the software Im using for my own keyword research. Being totally satisfied with it I was wondering how Keyword Elite 2 would perfom compared to it and why in the world would I change from MS to KE2. I must confess that when I started to test Keyword Elite 2 I was pretty sure that I would keep working with Market Samurai

Keyword Elite 2: Whats Inside

Some interesting modules have been added to Keyword Elite 2 making it more up to date concerning some of the latest Internet Marketing trends.

The Keyword Surge Module:

This module is used to create keywords lists. The way it works is you first enter a seed keyword and Keyword Elite will give you a list of related keywords. This is the most basic function that you can find in any keyword tool. However, in Keyword Elite 2 you have the option to use 5 different ways to create those keywords lists:

By using the Keyword Elite Engine
By using Ask.com
By using the Google Suggestion Tool
By using Meta Tags
By using the free version of Word Tracker
Additionally to giving a seed keyword you also have the option to control how many keywords you want as a result, ranging from 100 to 10,000 (from one single seed keyword).

As in any keyword tool you can sort the keywords alphabetically or by search volume or by any other column. You can easily filter the keywords if for example you only want the keywords being searched more than 6,000 times per month or if you only want keyword phrases with at least 3 words in them. You just have to click on one of the filter icons as shown in the screenshot below:

For my test, with the aloe vera seed keyword, the number of generated keywords is much higher than what I got with Market Samurai. I paused after about 15 seconds and got 815 related keywords while Market Samurai gave me only 468.

But wait, this doesnt mean that its better yet. A huge number of keywords doesnt mean anything if the keywords are low quality or not related enough to the seed keyword.

After a quick look at the results I was surprised to see keywords with high search volumes that Market Samurai didnt return. For example Keyword Elite returned me this intriguing keyword: succulent plants. At first I didnt know if that was targeted or not, so I made a quick search on google for succulent plants and found that the aloe vera is actually categorized in the succulent plants family. This keyword is searched for more than 6,000 times per month so this is a key keyword to know if youre creating content pages related to the Aloe Vera plant.

You might think that it is a little bit far from the aloe vera term itself (SEO wise its not), so if you think this is the case then consider this second keyword that Keyword Elite gave me while Market Samurai didnt: aloe vesta. After a quick search on google, it seems that aloe vesta is a product series containing aloe vera. This keyword phrase is searched for more than 12,000 times per month and its trending upwards!

Some of the keywords that Keyword Elite 2 returned are quite untargeted or completely unrelated but the majority of the keywords I got are of excellent quality and were not returned by Market Samurai.

I was very surprised and impressed.

This module has also some other cool features. For example you can automatically surround the keywords with quotes or brackets if you want to use them in an adwords campaign. Or you can append or prepend any text you want to the keywords, so you could add for example in chicago at the end of all your keywords. You can also setup a list of characters to remove from the keywords and define a list of positive and negative keywords. So if you dont want to get any data about aloe vesta, just put the word vesta into the negative keywords list or if you only want the keywords containing vesta put this word into the positive keywords lists:

Like in Keyword Elite 1 you can then select the keywords you want and send them to one of the other modules to extract more specific information:

You can also automatically create adsense content pages for all the selected keywords. Keyword Elite 2 like the 1st version will search for related articles on the internet and create the HTML pages for you. You can use your own template or any of the existing ones.

The Market Research Sleuth Module:

The name of this module is not very explicit. Its not market research as I call it myself. Instead this module allows you to get information about the PPC advertisers bidding on your selected keywords. You will be able to see for the 3 main PPC engines (Google Adwords, Yahoo Search Marketing and MSN AdCenter):

How many advertisers are bidding on your selected keywords as well as their ads and website URLs.
The average cost per click
The estimated number of clicks on the #1 ad.
The estimated number of clicks on the #1 organic listing.
As well as some other information like the number of results of competing websites etc
The 1st screen you will see when you launch this module is this one:

After entering some keywords or sending them from another module to the Market Research Sleuth module here is what you will get (Click on the image to Zoom):

I have only extracted the information from Google Adwords and not from Yahoo Search Marketing or MSN AdCenter.

Thanks to this module you can find out if other advertisers are spending money for your selected keywords and if the competition is not too fierce.

The Adwords Time Machine Module:

This module is what I would call a light version of Google Cash Detective (Link to my Google Cash Detective review opens in a new window).

Dont be fooled though, I said light version but actually this module is very powerful and will allow you to uncover profitable Adwords campaigns in a flash.

WARNING: I have already written about this in my Google Cash Detective review but I need to repeat it to be sure that you dont miss this crucial information:

Finding a campaign profitable for another advertiser DOES NOT GUARANTEEin any way that by swiping his campaign *YOU* will make money.

There are several reasons to this and the main one being that your adwords account is assigned a quality score. This account quality score has an influence on your overall bid prices. The higher your quality score the lower you will pay for top positions. These advertisers that you are spying probably have high quality score accounts, and if your account is new or if you have never created optimized adwords campaigns there are high chances (close to 100%) that your account quality score is low.

So you will have to pay higher and maybe you wont be able to turn a profit.

That being said, if you do things well (I can show you how for free, more on that later) you can uncover some terrific opportunities by using this module.

Let me show you how it works First you enter the keyword you want to spy:

That is quite impressive for a software of this price tag. You see at a glance which advertisers are bidding on the term you have specified for the last 6 months. When you click on the little glass icon on the left of an advertisers URL you get te list of the other keywords he is bidding on!

You can also see the exact Ad text he is using for each of these keywords. Powerful!

Now while I was playing with this module I found that Keyword Elite 2 was not able, pretty often, to extract the keywords list an advertiser was bidding on.

Here is the message I often get: Cannot find more keywords

I dont really know if this is because Im using a Beta version of Keyword Elite 2 or if it is because the keywords database on their server is small. If this is a database issue, this will get better with time as the database grows. If this is because Im using a Beta version then you will get better results than me as soon as you start using the software.

The Search Engine Dominator Module:

This module is very useful for article marketers or content writers. It allows you to find the keywords that are searched a lot and that are not competitive, keywords for which you can easily rank for on Google, Yahoo and Bing (MSN).

Here is how it works First enter a keyword or a list of keywords, you can also send a list of keywords from the Keyword Surge module to this one. Then select which search engines you want to check and click on start:

If youre new to SEO this information might look difficult to read. Dont be scared its actually very easy to understand and everything is explained in the manual. As an SEO expert myself I can answer your questions in my own internet marketing forum.

The information you get from this module is pure gold for bum marketers because you can very quickly and easily find the keyword phrases with high search volume and low competition.

The Adwords Competition Sniper Module:

I see this module as an extension of the Adwords Time Machine except that you dont get the data instantly. With this module you can specify which websites you want to spy, for which keywords and for how much time. It is similar to softwares like AdSpy PRO or Undercover Profits.

Let me give you an example with some screenshots.

First you give a name to your project, I have called mine Aloe Vesta in regards to the keyword I found within the Keyword Surge module.

Then you edit your project to add the websites and keywords you want to spy. I have added the following keywords and the following websites (I have found the websites by searching for aloe vesta on google, I just copied the domain names of some of the advertisers):

After pressing OK Keyword Elite 2 shows you this screen where you can add new keywords or remove some of them:

Just click on the save button and youre ready to spy on those websites! Here is the main screen you will see after setting up your project (Click To Zoom):

If you decide to use the scheduler you can have Keyword Elite check those keywords/websites combinations daily, weekly or monthly. I recommend to use the scheduler and the daily setting.

On the right column you can see for how much days those different advertisers have been bidding on the specified keywords (from the day you started the project). The theory behind this is that if someone is paying for a specific keyword long enough hes probably making money with this keyword. Its not always the case though.

Many advertisers dont track to the keyword level so their overall campaign is profitable but they dont know which keywords are bringing them the sales (and which ones are just waste of money).

That being said it can give you a good indication. If for example you find that these advertisers stop paying for this term after a few days it would be wise to NOT bid on it Or maybe their landing pages are crap

The Google Site Targeter Module:

IMHO for PPC advertisers, this module is simply the most powerful module of Keyword Elite 2. Even more than the Adwords Time Machine module.

The Site Targeter allows you to find high traffic websitesdisplaying adsense ads in any niche of your choice.

Why would you want to find adsense websites you might ask?

Answer Because you can advertise on these specific websites from your Adwords account.

Here is in a few words the money making strategy you will use with this module:

Lets say that you want to create an adwords campaign to sell some aloe vesta related products (Im glad I found this keyword above )

What most PPC advertisers would do would be creating a normal campaign and bid on some aloe vesta related keywords so when someone searches for aloe vesta on google their ad would get displayed on the search engine listing page like that:

Firstly I’ll explain what blogging and pinging is. Blog and ping is a technique you can use to get your site listed in search engines. The idea is that search engines like blogs because of the ever updating content, so they keep going back. By writing a blog and placing some site links in the posts, the search engines will spider the links, and pages shortly after you blog.

Pinging is when you send a “ping” to let the directories, which keep lists of blogs, and when those blogs are updated, know that you have added content to your blog. These are allegedly closely watched by the search engine spiders, so they can spider any new content and add it to the search engine which controls them.

Anyway, back to my experiment, does blogging and pinging really get your site noticed?

Well my results have been encouraging. I have tested by only using a blog as the front page of a new information site I started. http://www.informationpagesonline.com has only been advertised by way of the blog to announce new content, and then pinged through http://www.pingoat.com which distributes the blog entries to several large ping sites.

Following a week of adding content, and then posting an announcement of the new content to the blog on the front page and pinging with pingoat, the site seems to be getting visitors to most of the sections, which I can see from the log files. I can also see some of the traffic is coming from search engines, and also a lot of spider activity can be seen on the site, where the search engines are crawling the content.

So I have to conclude that blogging and pinging is a way of getting listed on search engines, or at least of getting noticed by them quickly.

Should you be blogging and pinging?

Of course that’s up to you, but for the time it takes, it maybe worth trying blog and ping for yourself and tracking the results. A quick blog post (use http://www.blogger.com if you don’t already have a blog) and then ping with pingoat takes only a few minutes, and may help a site into all the search engines quickly.

I see this module as an extension of the Adwords Time Machine except that you dont get the data instantly. With this module you can specify which websites you want to spy, for which keywords and for how much time. It is similar to softwares like AdSpy PRO or Undercover Profits.

Let me give you an example with some screenshots.

First you give a name to your project, I have called mine Aloe Vesta in regards to the keyword I found within the Keyword Surge module.

Then you edit your project to add the websites and keywords you want to spy. I have added the following keywords and the following websites (I have found the websites by searching for aloe vesta on google, I just copied the domain names of some of the advertisers):

If you decide to use the scheduler you can have Keyword Elite check those keywords/websites combinations daily, weekly or monthly. I recommend to use the scheduler and the daily setting.

On the right column you can see for how much days those different advertisers have been bidding on the specified keywords (from the day you started the project). The theory behind this is that if someone is paying for a specific keyword long enough hes probably making money with this keyword. Its not always the case though.

Many advertisers dont track to the keyword level so their overall campaign is profitable but they dont know which keywords are bringing them the sales (and which ones are just waste of money).

That being said it can give you a good indication. If for example you find that these advertisers stop paying for this term after a few days it would be wise to NOT bid on it Or maybe their landing pages are crap

The Google Site Targeter Module:

IMHO for PPC advertisers, this module is simply the most powerful module of Keyword Elite 2. Even more than the Adwords Time Machine module.

The Site Targeter allows you to find high traffic websitesdisplaying adsense ads in any niche of your choice.

For those of you who dont know, Keyword Elite 1.0 is one of the most known keyword tool in the Internet Marketing community. It was released several years ago and IMHO it is now quite obsolete. With all the keyword tools available today, mainly the free Googles Keyword Tool or the excellent paid version of Market Samurai, they really had to release a new version if they wanted to stay on track.

Market Samurai is the software Im using for my own keyword research. Being totally satisfied with it I was wondering how Keyword Elite 2 would perfom compared to it and why in the world would I change from MS to KE2. I must confess that when I started to test Keyword Elite 2 I was pretty sure that I would keep working with Market Samurai

Keyword Elite 2: Whats Inside

Some interesting modules have been added to Keyword Elite 2 making it more up to date concerning some of the latest Internet Marketing trends.

The Keyword Surge Module:

This module is used to create keywords lists. The way it works is you first enter a seed keyword and Keyword Elite will give you a list of related keywords. This is the most basic function that you can find in any keyword tool. However, in Keyword Elite 2 you have the option to use 5 different ways to create those keywords lists:

By using the Keyword Elite Engine
By using Ask.com
By using the Google Suggestion Tool
By using Meta Tags
By using the free version of Word Tracker
Additionally to giving a seed keyword you also have the option to control how many keywords you want as a result, ranging from 100 to 10,000 (from one single seed keyword).

As in any keyword tool you can sort the keywords alphabetically or by search volume or by any other column. You can easily filter the keywords if for example you only want the keywords being searched more than 6,000 times per month or if you only want keyword phrases with at least 3 words in them. You just have to click on one of the filter icons as shown in the screenshot below:

For my test, with the aloe vera seed keyword, the number of generated keywords is much higher than what I got with Market Samurai. I paused after about 15 seconds and got 815 related keywords while Market Samurai gave me only 468.

But wait, this doesnt mean that its better yet. A huge number of keywords doesnt mean anything if the keywords are low quality or not related enough to the seed keyword.

After a quick look at the results I was surprised to see keywords with high search volumes that Market Samurai didnt return. For example Keyword Elite returned me this intriguing keyword: succulent plants. At first I didnt know if that was targeted or not, so I made a quick search on google for succulent plants and found that the aloe vera is actually categorized in the succulent plants family. This keyword is searched for more than 6,000 times per month so this is a key keyword to know if youre creating content pages related to the Aloe Vera plant.

You might think that it is a little bit far from the aloe vera term itself (SEO wise its not), so if you think this is the case then consider this second keyword that Keyword Elite gave me while Market Samurai didnt: aloe vesta. After a quick search on google, it seems that aloe vesta is a product series containing aloe vera. This keyword phrase is searched for more than 12,000 times per month and its trending upwards!

Some of the keywords that Keyword Elite 2 returned are quite untargeted or completely unrelated but the majority of the keywords I got are of excellent quality and were not returned by Market Samurai.

I was very surprised and impressed.

This module has also some other cool features. For example you can automatically surround the keywords with quotes or brackets if you want to use them in an adwords campaign. Or you can append or prepend any text you want to the keywords, so you could add for example in chicago at the end of all your keywords. You can also setup a list of characters to remove from the keywords and define a list of positive and negative keywords. So if you dont want to get any data about aloe vesta, just put the word vesta into the negative keywords list or if you only want the keywords containing vesta put this word into the positive keywords lists:

Like in Keyword Elite 1 you can then select the keywords you want and send them to one of the other modules to extract more specific information:

You can also automatically create adsense content pages for all the selected keywords. Keyword Elite 2 like the 1st version will search for related articles on the internet and create the HTML pages for you. You can use your own template or any of the existing ones.

The Market Research Sleuth Module:

The name of this module is not very explicit. Its not market research as I call it myself. Instead this module allows you to get information about the PPC advertisers bidding on your selected keywords. You will be able to see for the 3 main PPC engines (Google Adwords, Yahoo Search Marketing and MSN AdCenter):

How many advertisers are bidding on your selected keywords as well as their ads and website URLs.
The average cost per click
The estimated number of clicks on the #1 ad.
The estimated number of clicks on the #1 organic listing.
As well as some other information like the number of results of competing websites etc

After entering some keywords or sending them from another module to the Market Research Sleuth module here is what you will get (Click on the image to Zoom):

I have only extracted the information from Google Adwords and not from Yahoo Search Marketing or MSN AdCenter.

Thanks to this module you can find out if other advertisers are spending money for your selected keywords and if the competition is not too fierce.

The Adwords Time Machine Module:

This module is what I would call a light version of Google Cash Detective (Link to my Google Cash Detective review opens in a new window).

Dont be fooled though, I said light version but actually this module is very powerful and will allow you to uncover profitable Adwords campaigns in a flash.

WARNING: I have already written about this in my Google Cash Detective review but I need to repeat it to be sure that you dont miss this crucial information:

Finding a campaign profitable for another advertiser DOES NOT GUARANTEEin any way that by swiping his campaign *YOU* will make money.

There are several reasons to this and the main one being that your adwords account is assigned a quality score. This account quality score has an influence on your overall bid prices. The higher your quality score the lower you will pay for top positions. These advertisers that you are spying probably have high quality score accounts, and if your account is new or if you have never created optimized adwords campaigns there are high chances (close to 100%) that your account quality score is low.

So you will have to pay higher and maybe you wont be able to turn a profit.

That being said, if you do things well (I can show you how for free, more on that later) you can uncover some terrific opportunities by using this module.

Let me show you how it works First you enter the keyword you want to spy:

That is quite impressive for a software of this price tag. You see at a glance which advertisers are bidding on the term you have specified for the last 6 months. When you click on the little glass icon on the left of an advertisers URL you get te list of the other keywords he is bidding on!

You can also see the exact Ad text he is using for each of these keywords. Powerful!

Now while I was playing with this module I found that Keyword Elite 2 was not able, pretty often, to extract the keywords list an advertiser was bidding on.

Here is the message I often get: Cannot find more keywords

I dont really know if this is because Im using a Beta version of Keyword Elite 2 or if it is because the keywords database on their server is small. If this is a database issue, this will get better with time as the database grows. If this is because Im using a Beta version then you will get better results than me as soon as you start using the software.

Some interesting modules have been added to Keyword Elite 2 making it more up to date concerning some of the latest Internet Marketing trends.

The Keyword Surge Module:

This module is used to create keywords lists. The way it works is you first enter a seed keyword and Keyword Elite will give you a list of related keywords. This is the most basic function that you can find in any keyword tool. However, in Keyword Elite 2 you have the option to use 5 different ways to create those keywords lists:

By using the Keyword Elite Engine
By using Ask.com
By using the Google Suggestion Tool
By using Meta Tags
By using the free version of Word Tracker
Additionally to giving a seed keyword you also have the option to control how many keywords you want as a result, ranging from 100 to 10,000 (from one single seed keyword).

As in any keyword tool you can sort the keywords alphabetically or by search volume or by any other column. You can easily filter the keywords if for example you only want the keywords being searched more than 6,000 times per month or if you only want keyword phrases with at least 3 words in them. You just have to click on one of the filter icons as shown in the screenshot below:

For my test, with the aloe vera seed keyword, the number of generated keywords is much higher than what I got with Market Samurai. I paused after about 15 seconds and got 815 related keywords while Market Samurai gave me only 468.

But wait, this doesnt mean that its better yet. A huge number of keywords doesnt mean anything if the keywords are low quality or not related enough to the seed keyword.

After a quick look at the results I was surprised to see keywords with high search volumes that Market Samurai didnt return. For example Keyword Elite returned me this intriguing keyword: succulent plants. At first I didnt know if that was targeted or not, so I made a quick search on google for succulent plants and found that the aloe vera is actually categorized in the succulent plants family. This keyword is searched for more than 6,000 times per month so this is a key keyword to know if youre creating content pages related to the Aloe Vera plant.

You might think that it is a little bit far from the aloe vera term itself (SEO wise its not), so if you think this is the case then consider this second keyword that Keyword Elite gave me while Market Samurai didnt: aloe vesta. After a quick search on google, it seems that aloe vesta is a product series containing aloe vera. This keyword phrase is searched for more than 12,000 times per month and its trending upwards!

Some of the keywords that Keyword Elite 2 returned are quite untargeted or completely unrelated but the majority of the keywords I got are of excellent quality and were not returned by Market Samurai.

I was very surprised and impressed.

This module has also some other cool features. For example you can automatically surround the keywords with quotes or brackets if you want to use them in an adwords campaign. Or you can append or prepend any text you want to the keywords, so you could add for example in chicago at the end of all your keywords. You can also setup a list of characters to remove from the keywords and define a list of positive and negative keywords. So if you dont want to get any data about aloe vesta, just put the word vesta into the negative keywords list or if you only want the keywords containing vesta put this word into the positive keywords lists:

Like in Keyword Elite 1 you can then select the keywords you want and send them to one of the other modules to extract more specific information:

You can also automatically create adsense content pages for all the selected keywords. Keyword Elite 2 like the 1st version will search for related articles on the internet and create the HTML pages for you. You can use your own template or any of the existing ones.

The Market Research Sleuth Module:

The name of this module is not very explicit. Its not market research as I call it myself. Instead this module allows you to get information about the PPC advertisers bidding on your selected keywords. You will be able to see for the 3 main PPC engines (Google Adwords, Yahoo Search Marketing and MSN AdCenter):

How many advertisers are bidding on your selected keywords as well as their ads and website URLs.
The average cost per click
The estimated number of clicks on the #1 ad.
The estimated number of clicks on the #1 organic listing.
As well as some other information like the number of results of competing websites etc
The 1st screen you will see when you launch this module is this one:

After entering some keywords or sending them from another module to the Market Research Sleuth module here is what you will get (Click on the image to Zoom):

I have only extracted the information from Google Adwords and not from Yahoo Search Marketing or MSN AdCenter.

Thanks to this module you can find out if other advertisers are spending money for your selected keywords and if the competition is not too fierce.

The Adwords Time Machine Module:

This module is what I would call a light version of Google Cash Detective (Link to my Google Cash Detective review opens in a new window).

Dont be fooled though, I said light version but actually this module is very powerful and will allow you to uncover profitable Adwords campaigns in a flash.

WARNING: I have already written about this in my Google Cash Detective review but I need to repeat it to be sure that you dont miss this crucial information:

Finding a campaign profitable for another advertiser DOES NOT GUARANTEEin any way that by swiping his campaign *YOU* will make money.

There are several reasons to this and the main one being that your adwords account is assigned a quality score. This account quality score has an influence on your overall bid prices. The higher your quality score the lower you will pay for top positions. These advertisers that you are spying probably have high quality score accounts, and if your account is new or if you have never created optimized adwords campaigns there are high chances (close to 100%) that your account quality score is low.

So you will have to pay higher and maybe you wont be able to turn a profit.

That being said, if you do things well (I can show you how for free, more on that later) you can uncover some terrific opportunities by using this module.

Let me show you how it works First you enter the keyword you want to spy:

That is quite impressive for a software of this price tag. You see at a glance which advertisers are bidding on the term you have specified for the last 6 months. When you click on the little glass icon on the left of an advertisers URL you get te list of the other keywords he is bidding on!

You can also see the exact Ad text he is using for each of these keywords. Powerful!

Now while I was playing with this module I found that Keyword Elite 2 was not able, pretty often, to extract the keywords list an advertiser was bidding on.

Here is the message I often get: Cannot find more keywords

I dont really know if this is because Im using a Beta version of Keyword Elite 2 or if it is because the keywords database on their server is small. If this is a database issue, this will get better with time as the database grows. If this is because Im using a Beta version then you will get better results than me as soon as you start using the software.

The Search Engine Dominator Module:

This module is very useful for article marketers or content writers. It allows you to find the keywords that are searched a lot and that are not competitive, keywords for which you can easily rank for on Google, Yahoo and Bing (MSN).

Here is how it works First enter a keyword or a list of keywords, you can also send a list of keywords from the Keyword Surge module to this one. Then select which search engines you want to check and click on start:

If youre new to SEO this information might look difficult to read. Dont be scared its actually very easy to understand and everything is explained in the manual. As an SEO expert myself I can answer your questions in my own internet marketing forum.

The information you get from this module is pure gold for bum marketers because you can very quickly and easily find the keyword phrases with high search volume and low competition.

The Adwords Competition Sniper Module:

I see this module as an extension of the Adwords Time Machine except that you dont get the data instantly. With this module you can specify which websites you want to spy, for which keywords and for how much time. It is similar to softwares like AdSpy PRO or Undercover Profits.

Let me give you an example with some screenshots.

First you give a name to your project, I have called mine Aloe Vesta in regards to the keyword I found within the Keyword Surge module.

Then you edit your project to add the websites and keywords you want to spy. I have added the following keywords and the following websites (I have found the websites by searching for aloe vesta on google, I just copied the domain names of some of the advertisers):

After pressing OK Keyword Elite 2 shows you this screen where you can add new keywords or remove some of them:

Just click on the save button and youre ready to spy on those websites! Here is the main screen you will see after setting up your project (Click To Zoom):

If you decide to use the scheduler you can have Keyword Elite check those keywords/websites combinations daily, weekly or monthly. I recommend to use the scheduler and the daily setting.

On the right column you can see for how much days those different advertisers have been bidding on the specified keywords (from the day you started the project). The theory behind this is that if someone is paying for a specific keyword long enough hes probably making money with this keyword. Its not always the case though.

Many advertisers dont track to the keyword level so their overall campaign is profitable but they dont know which keywords are bringing them the sales (and which ones are just waste of money).

That being said it can give you a good indication. If for example you find that these advertisers stop paying for this term after a few days it would be wise to NOT bid on it Or maybe their landing pages are crap

The Google Site Targeter Module:

IMHO for PPC advertisers, this module is simply the most powerful module of Keyword Elite 2. Even more than the Adwords Time Machine module.

The Site Targeter allows you to find high traffic websitesdisplaying adsense ads in any niche of your choice.

Why would you want to find adsense websites you might ask?

Answer Because you can advertise on these specific websites from your Adwords account.

For those of you who dont know, Keyword Elite 1.0 is one of the most known keyword tool in the Internet Marketing community. It was released several years ago and IMHO it is now quite obsolete. I must confess that when I started to test Keyword Elite 2 I was pretty sure that I would keep working with Market Samurai

Keyword Elite 2: Whats Inside

Some interesting modules have been added to Keyword Elite 2 making it more up to date concerning some of the latest Internet Marketing trends.

The Keyword Surge Module:

This module is used to create keywords lists. The way it works is you first enter a seed keyword and Keyword Elite will give you a list of related keywords. This is the most basic function that you can find in any keyword tool. However, in Keyword Elite 2 you have the option to use 5 different ways to create those keywords lists:

By using the Keyword Elite Engine
By using Ask.com
By using the Google Suggestion Tool
By using Meta Tags
By using the free version of Word Tracker
Additionally to giving a seed keyword you also have the option to control how many keywords you want as a result, ranging from 100 to 10,000 (from one single seed keyword).

As in any keyword tool you can sort the keywords alphabetically or by search volume or by any other column. You can easily filter the keywords if for example you only want the keywords being searched more than 6,000 times per month or if you only want keyword phrases with at least 3 words in them. You just have to click on one of the filter icons as shown in the screenshot below:

For my test, with the aloe vera seed keyword, the number of generated keywords is much higher than what I got with Market Samurai. I paused after about 15 seconds and got 815 related keywords while Market Samurai gave me only 468.

But wait, this doesnt mean that its better yet. A huge number of keywords doesnt mean anything if the keywords are low quality or not related enough to the seed keyword.

After a quick look at the results I was surprised to see keywords with high search volumes that Market Samurai didnt return. For example Keyword Elite returned me this intriguing keyword: succulent plants. At first I didnt know if that was targeted or not, so I made a quick search on google for succulent plants and found that the aloe vera is actually categorized in the succulent plants family. This keyword is searched for more than 6,000 times per month so this is a key keyword to know if youre creating content pages related to the Aloe Vera plant.

You might think that it is a little bit far from the aloe vera term itself (SEO wise its not), so if you think this is the case then consider this second keyword that Keyword Elite gave me while Market Samurai didnt: aloe vesta. After a quick search on google, it seems that aloe vesta is a product series containing aloe vera. This keyword phrase is searched for more than 12,000 times per month and its trending upwards!

Some of the keywords that Keyword Elite 2 returned are quite untargeted or completely unrelated but the majority of the keywords I got are of excellent quality and were not returned by Market Samurai.

I was very surprised and impressed.

This module has also some other cool features. For example you can automatically surround the keywords with quotes or brackets if you want to use them in an adwords campaign. Or you can append or prepend any text you want to the keywords, so you could add for example in chicago at the end of all your keywords. You can also setup a list of characters to remove from the keywords and define a list of positive and negative keywords. So if you dont want to get any data about aloe vesta, just put the word vesta into the negative keywords list or if you only want the keywords containing vesta put this word into the positive keywords lists:

Like in Keyword Elite 1 you can then select the keywords you want and send them to one of the other modules to extract more specific information:

You can also automatically create adsense content pages for all the selected keywords. Keyword Elite 2 like the 1st version will search for related articles on the internet and create the HTML pages for you. You can use your own template or any of the existing ones.

The Market Research Sleuth Module:

The name of this module is not very explicit. Its not market research as I call it myself. Instead this module allows you to get information about the PPC advertisers bidding on your selected keywords. You will be able to see for the 3 main PPC engines (Google Adwords, Yahoo Search Marketing and MSN AdCenter):

How many advertisers are bidding on your selected keywords as well as their ads and website URLs.
The average cost per click
The estimated number of clicks on the #1 ad.
The estimated number of clicks on the #1 organic listing.
As well as some other information like the number of results of competing websites etc
The 1st screen you will see when you launch this module is this one:

After entering some keywords or sending them from another module to the Market Research Sleuth module here is what you will get (Click on the image to Zoom):

I have only extracted the information from Google Adwords and not from Yahoo Search Marketing or MSN AdCenter.

Thanks to this module you can find out if other advertisers are spending money for your selected keywords and if the competition is not too fierce.

The Adwords Time Machine Module:

This module is what I would call a light version of Google Cash Detective (Link to my Google Cash Detective review opens in a new window).

Dont be fooled though, I said light version but actually this module is very powerful and will allow you to uncover profitable Adwords campaigns in a flash.

WARNING: I have already written about this in my Google Cash Detective review but I need to repeat it to be sure that you dont miss this crucial information:

Finding a campaign profitable for another advertiser DOES NOT GUARANTEEin any way that by swiping his campaign *YOU* will make money.

There are several reasons to this and the main one being that your adwords account is assigned a quality score. This account quality score has an influence on your overall bid prices. The higher your quality score the lower you will pay for top positions. These advertisers that you are spying probably have high quality score accounts, and if your account is new or if you have never created optimized adwords campaigns there are high chances (close to 100%) that your account quality score is low.

So you will have to pay higher and maybe you wont be able to turn a profit.

That being said, if you do things well (I can show you how for free, more on that later) you can uncover some terrific opportunities by using this module.

Let me show you how it works First you enter the keyword you want to spy:

On the next screen you get this kind of results (Click on the image to Zoom):

That is quite impressive for a software of this price tag. You see at a glance which advertisers are bidding on the term you have specified for the last 6 months. When you click on the little glass icon on the left of an advertisers URL you get te list of the other keywords he is bidding on!

You can also see the exact Ad text he is using for each of these keywords. Powerful!

Now while I was playing with this module I found that Keyword Elite 2 was not able, pretty often, to extract the keywords list an advertiser was bidding on.

Here is the message I often get: Cannot find more keywords

I dont really know if this is because Im using a Beta version of Keyword Elite 2 or if it is because the keywords database on their server is small. If this is a database issue, this will get better with time as the database grows. If this is because Im using a Beta version then you will get better results than me as soon as you start using the software.

The Search Engine Dominator Module:

This module is very useful for article marketers or content writers. It allows you to find the keywords that are searched a lot and that are not competitive, keywords for which you can easily rank for on Google, Yahoo and Bing (MSN).

Here is how it works First enter a keyword or a list of keywords, you can also send a list of keywords from the Keyword Surge module to this one. Then select which search engines you want to check and click on start:

If youre new to SEO this information might look difficult to read. Dont be scared its actually very easy to understand and everything is explained in the manual. As an SEO expert myself I can answer your questions in my own internet marketing forum.

The information you get from this module is pure gold for bum marketers because you can very quickly and easily find the keyword phrases with high search volume and low competition.

The Adwords Competition Sniper Module:

I see this module as an extension of the Adwords Time Machine except that you dont get the data instantly. With this module you can specify which websites you want to spy, for which keywords and for how much time. It is similar to softwares like AdSpy PRO or Undercover Profits.

Let me give you an example with some screenshots.

First you give a name to your project, I have called mine Aloe Vesta in regards to the keyword I found within the Keyword Surge module.

Then you edit your project to add the websites and keywords you want to spy. I have added the following keywords and the following websites (I have found the websites by searching for aloe vesta on google, I just copied the domain names of some of the advertisers):

After pressing OK Keyword Elite 2 shows you this screen where you can add new keywords or remove some of them:

Just click on the save button and youre ready to spy on those websites! Here is the main screen you will see after setting up your project (Click To Zoom):

If you decide to use the scheduler you can have Keyword Elite check those keywords/websites combinations daily, weekly or monthly. I recommend to use the scheduler and the daily setting.

On the right column you can see for how much days those different advertisers have been bidding on the specified keywords (from the day you started the project). The theory behind this is that if someone is paying for a specific keyword long enough hes probably making money with this keyword. Its not always the case though.

Many advertisers dont track to the keyword level so their overall campaign is profitable but they dont know which keywords are bringing them the sales (and which ones are just waste of money).

That being said it can give you a good indication. If for example you find that these advertisers stop paying for this term after a few days it would be wise to NOT bid on it Or maybe their landing pages are crap

The Google Site Targeter Module:

IMHO for PPC advertisers, this module is simply the most powerful module of Keyword Elite 2. Even more than the Adwords Time Machine module.

The Site Targeter allows you to find high traffic websitesdisplaying adsense ads in any niche of your choice.

Why would you want to find adsense websites you might ask?

Answer Because you can advertise on these specific websites from your Adwords account.

Here is in a few words the money making strategy you will use with this module:

Lets say that you want to create an adwords campaign to sell some aloe vesta related products (Im glad I found this keyword above )

What most PPC advertisers would do would be creating a normal campaign and bid on some aloe vesta related keywords so when someone searches for aloe vesta on google their ad would get displayed on the search engine listing page like that:

Well I took a look at Alexa today and noticed that this blog almost hit the top 10,000 most visited sites on the Internet today. I have been seeing success with many of the methods that are unique to blog promotion. I felt it was time to write a post about blog promotion BUT WAIT! I havent even explained why I have this blog thing. I cant really jump into getting traffic to your blog without explaining why I have a blog and why you should have one too; now can I?

Lets go back to my history. I made it online without many of the tools you see me offering today. I had no products. I had no copywriting ability. My search engine ranking data was my key to my original success on the Internet. I would simply create high ranking web-sites for some market and sell the traffic from those sites directly to those who did have copywriiting ability and products. Obviously I no longer recommend that. Having your own product and copywriting ability are both multipliers to knowing how to get traffic. Now-a-days I focus on all three aspects of your Internet business and recommend that you do the same.

With that said dont underestimate the traffic business. Consider this. Who is the richest man in the world? Right. Bill Gates. He sells software. Software is a good business! Consider this though. Who are the 3 leading sites on the Internet? Go check Alexa if you dont know. OK; dont check. Ill just tell you:

1. Yahoo

2. Google

3. MSN (Microsoft)

Now take a look at that third one. Thats the company that Bill Gates (the richest man in the world; remember?) started. Now hes messing around on the Internet in the #3 spot.

Now; lets take a jump here. What do those three sites sell? Ok; take a minute on this one. There will be a test.

Thats right. They sell traffic (or they mostly sell traffic Yahoo and MSN are a tiny bit more diverse than that). Now isnt that interesting The richest man in the world who go that way by selling software now wants to sell traffic.

OK; that was a diversion. Well come back to that later. What I wanted to tell you about was my experience selling traffic (which is still the largest part of my business). I made a mistake. I sold traffic anonymously under corporate names. None of my traffic customers know who I am. They just buy traffic from XYZ Corporation because it converts to sales for them. XYZ Corporation has no personality. In fact, its fully automated and most of my customers seem to like it that way.

I tried to change that a couple of years ago. I started sending them emails teaching how they could get the most out of my traffic service. I was too late. They didnt know me and they didnt want to hear from me.

Then I tried one last attempt (Im glad I did) by offering them a special on traffic that month. I think I did a two for one deal or something like that. Over 25% of my customers bought a new campaign that day. I made over $60,000 in one day with that one email. I thought that was cool! I still do. I can write a single email and make thousands of dollars in a single day. I think a lot of marketers like that.

The power of your customer list is incredible! If you can convert 2% of strangers into customers with a sales page, you can convert 25% of your existing customers into customers of another product with that same sales page. Thats powerful!

I tried it with another product. It was a good product. It was mine. It was the search engine research itself that lead to the traffic those customers were buying. In effect, I was offering to teach them how to generate the same traffic that I was selling to them. It flopped miserably. No-one bought. I tried several other products. Nothing. Why?

Some of the responses told me right away. Even though I was writing under the company name, they didnt know me. Ill repeat that. They didnt know me. They knew my company. They knew that my company delivered great converting traffic, but they simply didnt know me. An endorsement of one company by another isnt very powerful. It isnt nearly as powerful as an endorsement by an individual.

So, I went on to do the Freedom Events. You know how they went. Based on the endorsement of a few well-known Internet marketers, they sold out. Lesson learned. To get that 25% number, you need one of the following:

1. To be marketing to your customers as a company and selling a special offer on the product of your company that your customers already know about.

2. To be marketing to your customers as a person and selling a special offer on any product that you personally endorse and have never given a bad endorsement on a product to your customers before.

I wanted to do the latter with my own customers not those of another Internet marketer.

What is the best way to do that? As I look around, a blog is the absolute perfect vehicle for that. As I sell products (and cross-promote them on the owners pages), I also promote this blog. I do it very early in the process. It is mentioned on the owners page and is also mentioned in the very first email most people get after purchasing one of my products.

They buy the product from a stranger, but I introduce myself as the creator of that product very early by pointing them (you) at this blog.

Then, I dont hide the blog behind some corporate image. You do buy my products from a corporation, but do you even know the name of that corporation? Who cares what it is called? I want you to get to know me. Thats the purpose of this blog.

Now some folks are finding this blog before they purchase one of my products. Thats OK too. Some people buy a product based on the sales page. Some buy because they know the author never produces junk. Some have a combination of those reasons.

OK; so yes you should have a blog. I suggest that you create your blog between your 3rd and 4th product in your primary market. Thats when I created this blog. That is also when you want to start cross-promoting your 3 or 4 products on their owners pages.

Here are some other things that I think are important:

1. Register your name for the domain for your blog.

2. Put your name at the top, not some cutesy blog name.

3. Share of yourself. Do not post to your blog like you are a customer service rep answering the phone for a large company never revealing anything of yourself only the corporate script. Chat with your customers like they are dear friends. Dont give out your home address or phone number, but within the context of the blog what are you afraid of? Let your blog readers get to know you.

4. Post often. People can get into the habit of doing something daily or hourly very easily. It is much more difficult to get into a weekly or monthly habit. Post at least daily so your blog readers can get into a daily habit of reading what you have to say.

5. Dont worry about giving away secrets of your products. Thats one reason I only sell software, video and mentoring products right now. Its simply not possible to accidently give away too much in text on your blog. Software and video are both more robust mediums than text. I can explain in words all day long how to do something it will still be useful to buy the software to automate that task and/or buy the video to actually see how it all works.

6. Get a subcribe link up on your blog (and all of your content sites). Some people will want to follow your blog, but wont remember. You need to give them a way to allow you to send them reminders when you post. This will dramatically increase your number of repeat visitors over time.

OK; I think that answers the question about why I have a blog and why you should too and how you should set it up. Now, I can jump into the specific ways to get traffic to a blog that only exist for blogs not other types of sites. Ill do that in a future post.

This module is used to create keywords lists. The way it works is you first enter a seed keyword and Keyword Elite will give you a list of related keywords. This is the most basic function that you can find in any keyword tool. However, in Keyword Elite 2 you have the option to use 5 different ways to create those keywords lists:

By using the Keyword Elite Engine
By using Ask.com
By using the Google Suggestion Tool
By using Meta Tags
By using the free version of Word Tracker
Additionally to giving a seed keyword you also have the option to control how many keywords you want as a result, ranging from 100 to 10,000 (from one single seed keyword).

As in any keyword tool you can sort the keywords alphabetically or by search volume or by any other column. You can easily filter the keywords if for example you only want the keywords being searched more than 6,000 times per month or if you only want keyword phrases with at least 3 words in them. You just have to click on one of the filter icons as shown in the screenshot below:

For my test, with the aloe vera seed keyword, the number of generated keywords is much higher than what I got with Market Samurai. I paused after about 15 seconds and got 815 related keywords while Market Samurai gave me only 468.

But wait, this doesnt mean that its better yet. A huge number of keywords doesnt mean anything if the keywords are low quality or not related enough to the seed keyword.

After a quick look at the results I was surprised to see keywords with high search volumes that Market Samurai didnt return. For example Keyword Elite returned me this intriguing keyword: succulent plants. At first I didnt know if that was targeted or not, so I made a quick search on google for succulent plants and found that the aloe vera is actually categorized in the succulent plants family. This keyword is searched for more than 6,000 times per month so this is a key keyword to know if youre creating content pages related to the Aloe Vera plant.

You might think that it is a little bit far from the aloe vera term itself (SEO wise its not), so if you think this is the case then consider this second keyword that Keyword Elite gave me while Market Samurai didnt: aloe vesta. After a quick search on google, it seems that aloe vesta is a product series containing aloe vera. This keyword phrase is searched for more than 12,000 times per month and its trending upwards!

Some of the keywords that Keyword Elite 2 returned are quite untargeted or completely unrelated but the majority of the keywords I got are of excellent quality and were not returned by Market Samurai.

I was very surprised and impressed.

This module has also some other cool features. For example you can automatically surround the keywords with quotes or brackets if you want to use them in an adwords campaign. Or you can append or prepend any text you want to the keywords, so you could add for example in chicago at the end of all your keywords. You can also setup a list of characters to remove from the keywords and define a list of positive and negative keywords. So if you dont want to get any data about aloe vesta, just put the word vesta into the negative keywords list or if you only want the keywords containing vesta put this word into the positive keywords lists:

Like in Keyword Elite 1 you can then select the keywords you want and send them to one of the other modules to extract more specific information:

You can also automatically create adsense content pages for all the selected keywords. Keyword Elite 2 like the 1st version will search for related articles on the internet and create the HTML pages for you. You can use your own template or any of the existing ones.

The Market Research Sleuth Module:

The name of this module is not very explicit. Its not market research as I call it myself. Instead this module allows you to get information about the PPC advertisers bidding on your selected keywords. You will be able to see for the 3 main PPC engines (Google Adwords, Yahoo Search Marketing and MSN AdCenter):

How many advertisers are bidding on your selected keywords as well as their ads and website URLs.
The average cost per click
The estimated number of clicks on the #1 ad.
The estimated number of clicks on the #1 organic listing.
As well as some other information like the number of results of competing websites etc
The 1st screen you will see when you launch this module is this one:

After entering some keywords or sending them from another module to the Market Research Sleuth module here is what you will get (Click on the image to Zoom):

I have only extracted the information from Google Adwords and not from Yahoo Search Marketing or MSN AdCenter.

Thanks to this module you can find out if other advertisers are spending money for your selected keywords and if the competition is not too fierce.

The Adwords Time Machine Module:

This module is what I would call a light version of Google Cash Detective (Link to my Google Cash Detective review opens in a new window).

Dont be fooled though, I said light version but actually this module is very powerful and will allow you to uncover profitable Adwords campaigns in a flash.

WARNING: I have already written about this in my Google Cash Detective review but I need to repeat it to be sure that you dont miss this crucial information:

Finding a campaign profitable for another advertiser DOES NOT GUARANTEEin any way that by swiping his campaign *YOU* will make money.

There are several reasons to this and the main one being that your adwords account is assigned a quality score. This account quality score has an influence on your overall bid prices. The higher your quality score the lower you will pay for top positions. These advertisers that you are spying probably have high quality score accounts, and if your account is new or if you have never created optimized adwords campaigns there are high chances (close to 100%) that your account quality score is low.

So you will have to pay higher and maybe you wont be able to turn a profit.

That being said, if you do things well (I can show you how for free, more on that later) you can uncover some terrific opportunities by using this module.

Let me show you how it works First you enter the keyword you want to spy:

That is quite impressive for a software of this price tag. You see at a glance which advertisers are bidding on the term you have specified for the last 6 months. When you click on the little glass icon on the left of an advertisers URL you get te list of the other keywords he is bidding on!

You can also see the exact Ad text he is using for each of these keywords. Powerful!

Now while I was playing with this module I found that Keyword Elite 2 was not able, pretty often, to extract the keywords list an advertiser was bidding on.

Here is the message I often get: Cannot find more keywords

I dont really know if this is because Im using a Beta version of Keyword Elite 2 or if it is because the keywords database on their server is small. If this is a database issue, this will get better with time as the database grows. If this is because Im using a Beta version then you will get better results than me as soon as you start using the software.

The Search Engine Dominator Module:

This module is very useful for article marketers or content writers. It allows you to find the keywords that are searched a lot and that are not competitive, keywords for which you can easily rank for on Google, Yahoo and Bing (MSN).

Here is how it works First enter a keyword or a list of keywords, you can also send a list of keywords from the Keyword Surge module to this one. Then select which search engines you want to check and click on start:

If youre new to SEO this information might look difficult to read. Dont be scared its actually very easy to understand and everything is explained in the manual. As an SEO expert myself I can answer your questions in my own internet marketing forum.

The information you get from this module is pure gold for bum marketers because you can very quickly and easily find the keyword phrases with high search volume and low competition.

The Adwords Competition Sniper Module:

I see this module as an extension of the Adwords Time Machine except that you dont get the data instantly. With this module you can specify which websites you want to spy, for which keywords and for how much time. It is similar to softwares like AdSpy PRO or Undercover Profits.

Let me give you an example with some screenshots.

First you give a name to your project, I have called mine Aloe Vesta in regards to the keyword I found within the Keyword Surge module.

Then you edit your project to add the websites and keywords you want to spy. I have added the following keywords and the following websites (I have found the websites by searching for aloe vesta on google, I just copied the domain names of some of the advertisers):

After pressing OK Keyword Elite 2 shows you this screen where you can add new keywords or remove some of them:

Just click on the save button and youre ready to spy on those websites! Here is the main screen you will see after setting up your project (Click To Zoom):

If you decide to use the scheduler you can have Keyword Elite check those keywords/websites combinations daily, weekly or monthly. I recommend to use the scheduler and the daily setting.

On the right column you can see for how much days those different advertisers have been bidding on the specified keywords (from the day you started the project). The theory behind this is that if someone is paying for a specific keyword long enough hes probably making money with this keyword. Its not always the case though.

Many advertisers dont track to the keyword level so their overall campaign is profitable but they dont know which keywords are bringing them the sales (and which ones are just waste of money).

That being said it can give you a good indication. If for example you find that these advertisers stop paying for this term after a few days it would be wise to NOT bid on it Or maybe their landing pages are crap

The Google Site Targeter Module:

IMHO for PPC advertisers, this module is simply the most powerful module of Keyword Elite 2. Even more than the Adwords Time Machine module.

The Site Targeter allows you to find high traffic websitesdisplaying adsense ads in any niche of your choice.

Why would you want to find adsense websites you might ask?

Answer Because you can advertise on these specific websites from your Adwords account.

Here is in a few words the money making strategy you will use with this module:

Lets say that you want to create an adwords campaign to sell some aloe vesta related products (Im glad I found this keyword above )

The main problem I have noticed is that people tend to concentrate on wider markets. If you are running a personal diary kind of blog, the chances are that there are thousands of similar blogs around. The more competition you have, the harder it will be for you to make some cash. Instead try concentrating on smaller markets also known as niche markets. Not only it will be easier for you to develop the traffic, the CPC (Cost per click) should also be higher due to advertisers demand exceeding publishers supply.

Secondly you need to have a unique selling point. You need to give your readers something that nobody else does. This should really help you get returning visitors.

Finally its the ads themselves. You should channel your ads. This way you will be able to measure your ad blocks performance. One of the most important things is to experiment. For those of you who dont know, Keyword Elite 1.0 is one of the most known keyword tool in the Internet Marketing community. It was released several years ago and IMHO it is now quite obsolete. With all the keyword tools available today, mainly the free Googles Keyword Tool or the excellent paid version of Market Samurai, they really had to release a new version if they wanted to stay on track.

Market Samurai is the software Im using for my own keyword research. Being totally satisfied with it I was wondering how Keyword Elite 2 would perfom compared to it and why in the world would I change from MS to KE2. I must confess that when I started to test Keyword Elite 2 I was pretty sure that I would keep working with Market Samurai

Keyword Elite 2: Whats Inside

Some interesting modules have been added to Keyword Elite 2 making it more up to date concerning some of the latest Internet Marketing trends.

The Keyword Surge Module:

This module is used to create keywords lists. The way it works is you first enter a seed keyword and Keyword Elite will give you a list of related keywords. This is the most basic function that you can find in any keyword tool. However, in Keyword Elite 2 you have the option to use 5 different ways to create those keywords lists:

By using the Keyword Elite Engine
By using Ask.com
By using the Google Suggestion Tool
By using Meta Tags
By using the free version of Word Tracker
Additionally to giving a seed keyword you also have the option to control how many keywords you want as a result, ranging from 100 to 10,000 (from one single seed keyword).

As in any keyword tool you can sort the keywords alphabetically or by search volume or by any other column. You can easily filter the keywords if for example you only want the keywords being searched more than 6,000 times per month or if you only want keyword phrases with at least 3 words in them. You just have to click on one of the filter icons as shown in the screenshot below:

For my test, with the aloe vera seed keyword, the number of generated keywords is much higher than what I got with Market Samurai. I paused after about 15 seconds and got 815 related keywords while Market Samurai gave me only 468.

But wait, this doesnt mean that its better yet. A huge number of keywords doesnt mean anything if the keywords are low quality or not related enough to the seed keyword.

After a quick look at the results I was surprised to see keywords with high search volumes that Market Samurai didnt return. For example Keyword Elite returned me this intriguing keyword: succulent plants. At first I didnt know if that was targeted or not, so I made a quick search on google for succulent plants and found that the aloe vera is actually categorized in the succulent plants family. This keyword is searched for more than 6,000 times per month so this is a key keyword to know if youre creating content pages related to the Aloe Vera plant.

You might think that it is a little bit far from the aloe vera term itself (SEO wise its not), so if you think this is the case then consider this second keyword that Keyword Elite gave me while Market Samurai didnt: aloe vesta. After a quick search on google, it seems that aloe vesta is a product series containing aloe vera. This keyword phrase is searched for more than 12,000 times per month and its trending upwards!

Some of the keywords that Keyword Elite 2 returned are quite untargeted or completely unrelated but the majority of the keywords I got are of excellent quality and were not returned by Market Samurai.

I was very surprised and impressed.

This module has also some other cool features. For example you can automatically surround the keywords with quotes or brackets if you want to use them in an adwords campaign. Or you can append or prepend any text you want to the keywords, so you could add for example in chicago at the end of all your keywords. You can also setup a list of characters to remove from the keywords and define a list of positive and negative keywords. So if you dont want to get any data about aloe vesta, just put the word vesta into the negative keywords list or if you only want the keywords containing vesta put this word into the positive keywords lists:

Like in Keyword Elite 1 you can then select the keywords you want and send them to one of the other modules to extract more specific information:

You can also automatically create adsense content pages for all the selected keywords. Keyword Elite 2 like the 1st version will search for related articles on the internet and create the HTML pages for you. You can use your own template or any of the existing ones.

The Market Research Sleuth Module:

The name of this module is not very explicit. Its not market research as I call it myself. Instead this module allows you to get information about the PPC advertisers bidding on your selected keywords. You will be able to see for the 3 main PPC engines (Google Adwords, Yahoo Search Marketing and MSN AdCenter):

How many advertisers are bidding on your selected keywords as well as their ads and website URLs.
The average cost per click
The estimated number of clicks on the #1 ad.
The estimated number of clicks on the #1 organic listing.
As well as some other information like the number of results of competing websites etc
The 1st screen you will see when you launch this module is this one:

After entering some keywords or sending them from another module to the Market Research Sleuth module here is what you will get (Click on the image to Zoom):

I have only extracted the information from Google Adwords and not from Yahoo Search Marketing or MSN AdCenter.

Thanks to this module you can find out if other advertisers are spending money for your selected keywords and if the competition is not too fierce.

The Adwords Time Machine Module:

This module is what I would call a light version of Google Cash Detective (Link to my Google Cash Detective review opens in a new window).

Dont be fooled though, I said light version but actually this module is very powerful and will allow you to uncover profitable Adwords campaigns in a flash.

WARNING: I have already written about this in my Google Cash Detective review but I need to repeat it to be sure that you dont miss this crucial information:

Finding a campaign profitable for another advertiser DOES NOT GUARANTEEin any way that by swiping his campaign *YOU* will make money.

There are several reasons to this and the main one being that your adwords account is assigned a quality score. This account quality score has an influence on your overall bid prices. The higher your quality score the lower you will pay for top positions. These advertisers that you are spying probably have high quality score accounts, and if your account is new or if you have never created optimized adwords campaigns there are high chances (close to 100%) that your account quality score is low.

So you will have to pay higher and maybe you wont be able to turn a profit.

That being said, if you do things well (I can show you how for free, more on that later) you can uncover some terrific opportunities by using this module.

Let me show you how it works First you enter the keyword you want to spy:

That is quite impressive for a software of this price tag. You see at a glance which advertisers are bidding on the term you have specified for the last 6 months. When you click on the little glass icon on the left of an advertisers URL you get te list of the other keywords he is bidding on!

You can also see the exact Ad text he is using for each of these keywords. Powerful!

Now while I was playing with this module I found that Keyword Elite 2 was not able, pretty often, to extract the keywords list an advertiser was bidding on.

Here is the message I often get: Cannot find more keywords

I dont really know if this is because Im using a Beta version of Keyword Elite 2 or if it is because the keywords database on their server is small. If this is a database issue, this will get better with time as the database grows. If this is because Im using a Beta version then you will get better results than me as soon as you start using the software.

The Search Engine Dominator Module:

This module is very useful for article marketers or content writers. It allows you to find the keywords that are searched a lot and that are not competitive, keywords for which you can easily rank for on Google, Yahoo and Bing (MSN).

Here is how it works First enter a keyword or a list of keywords, you can also send a list of keywords from the Keyword Surge module to this one. Then select which search engines you want to check and click on start:

If youre new to SEO this information might look difficult to read. Dont be scared its actually very easy to understand and everything is explained in the manual. As an SEO expert myself I can answer your questions in my own internet marketing forum.

The information you get from this module is pure gold for bum marketers because you can very quickly and easily find the keyword phrases with high search volume and low competition.

The Adwords Competition Sniper Module:

I see this module as an extension of the Adwords Time Machine except that you dont get the data instantly. With this module you can specify which websites you want to spy, for which keywords and for how much time. It is similar to softwares like AdSpy PRO or Undercover Profits.

Let me give you an example with some screenshots.

First you give a name to your project, I have called mine Aloe Vesta in regards to the keyword I found within the Keyword Surge module.

Then you edit your project to add the websites and keywords you want to spy. I have added the following keywords and the following websites (I have found the websites by searching for aloe vesta on google, I just copied the domain names of some of the advertisers):

After pressing OK Keyword Elite 2 shows you this screen where you can add new keywords or remove some of them:

Just click on the save button and youre ready to spy on those websites! Here is the main screen you will see after setting up your project (Click To Zoom):

If you decide to use the scheduler you can have Keyword Elite check those keywords/websites combinations daily, weekly or monthly. I recommend to use the scheduler and the daily setting.

On the right column you can see for how much days those different advertisers have been bidding on the specified keywords (from the day you started the project). The theory behind this is that if someone is paying for a specific keyword long enough hes probably making money with this keyword. Its not always the case though.

Many advertisers dont track to the keyword level so their overall campaign is profitable but they dont know which keywords are bringing them the sales (and which ones are just waste of money).

That being said it can give you a good indication. If for example you find that these advertisers stop paying for this term after a few days it would be wise to NOT bid on it Or maybe their landing pages are crap

The Google Site Targeter Module:

IMHO for PPC advertisers, this module is simply the most powerful module of Keyword Elite 2. Even more than the Adwords Time Machine module.

The Site Targeter allows you to find high traffic websitesdisplaying adsense ads in any niche of your choice.

Why would you want to find adsense websites you might ask?

Answer Because you can advertise on these specific websites from your Adwords account.

Here is in a few words the money making strategy you will use with this module:

Lets say that you want to create an adwords campaign to sell some aloe vesta related products (Im glad I found this keyword above )

The Adwords Competition Sniper Module:

I see this module as an extension of the Adwords Time Machine except that you dont get the data instantly. With this module you can specify which websites you want to spy, for which keywords and for how much time. It is similar to softwares like AdSpy PRO or Undercover Profits.

Let me give you an example with some screenshots.

First you give a name to your project, I have called mine Aloe Vesta in regards to the keyword I found within the Keyword Surge module.

If you decide to use the scheduler you can have Keyword Elite check those keywords/websites combinations daily, weekly or monthly. I recommend to use the scheduler and the daily setting.

On the right column you can see for how much days those different advertisers have been bidding on the specified keywords (from the day you started the project). The theory behind this is that if someone is paying for a specific keyword long enough hes probably making money with this keyword. Its not always the case though.

Many advertisers dont track to the keyword level so their overall campaign is profitable but they dont know which keywords are bringing them the sales (and which ones are just waste of money).

That being said it can give you a good indication. If for example you find that these advertisers stop paying for this term after a few days it would be wise to NOT bid on it Or maybe their landing pages are crap

The Google Site Targeter Module:

IMHO for PPC advertisers, this module is simply the most powerful module of Keyword Elite 2. Even more than the Adwords Time Machine module.
